I stayed in Futian, Shenzhen for a week and finally decided on Sunflower Hotel &Residence, Futian Port Branch. Originally, I came for its convenient location near Futian Port, but after staying, I realized that every facility design in the room was not just fancy internet celebrity decorations, but practical details that could enhance the happiness of accommodation.
I booked a 60 square meter high-rise duplex room, and as soon as I opened the door, I felt the openness of the space, without the cramped feeling of a regular apartment. The open area downstairs has been divided into functional zones, with a 1.6-meter-wide solid wood desk placed by the window. The desktop is equipped with six different specifications of power ports, including USB-A, USB-C, and three pin sockets arranged in a straight line, eliminating the need to search for sockets everywhere. Computers, phones, and power banks can be charged at the same time, and even if working overtime for several hours, there will be no embarrassing device power outage. The desk is also thoughtfully equipped with a movable file rack, where scattered contracts and bills can be sorted and stored without having to spread out all over the table.
The most surprising feature is the configuration of the open kitchen, which is completely different from the empty countertops in many apartments. The double door large capacity refrigerator can hold a week's worth of fresh produce and drinks. The induction cooker, non stick pan, and tableware are fully equipped, and even dishwashing cotton and detergent are prepared in advance. It is completely easy to cook noodles or heat soup. The embedded drum washing machine next to it comes with a drying function, so you don't have to worry about clothes drying out when you go back to the south. The shelf next to the machine also holds laundry gel beads and fabric softener, so you don't have to go downstairs to the supermarket to buy them temporarily. You can wash and dry the clothes you bring for business trips on the same day, and even your suit jacket can be ironed flat and straight with the handheld ironing machine hanging next to it.
Walk up the solid wood stairs to the independent bedroom on the second floor, with a 2-meter wide bed and a moderately soft mattress. Lying down, you can completely relieve the fatigue of the whole day. There are independent touch desk lamps and charging panels on both sides of the bed head, so you can turn off the lights easily while lying in bed without having to get up in the dark to find the switch. The bathroom has undergone a complete separation of dry and wet areas. The thermostatic showerhead produces fast and stable water, and the water flow does not fluctuate between cold and hot. The mirror cabinet comes with a defogging function, making the mirror clean and refreshing after taking a shower. The storage compartment on the countertop is designed thoughtfully, and skincare products and dental cups can be neatly placed without appearing messy.
The floor to ceiling sliding door next to the window opens up to a small balcony with folding clothes racks and a small tea table. When the weather is good, sitting here and enjoying the evening breeze, you can directly see the city skyline of Futian CBD. Having stayed in so many apartments in Shenzhen, it is rare to encounter such solid facilities and details, without unnecessary decorations, and every configuration accurately meets the real needs of long-term residents.
